  1. Event Description: GrifballHub is hosting the ultimate Grifball tournament: The Grifball World Cup. Teams will be placed into groups and engage in a two-stage competition: first is Group Play, where teams will play every other squad in their group three times over three weeks. Then we will move on to the Elimination Round, where the top team from each group will face off in a elimination tournament. In the end, we will have one team standing: The winners of the Grifball World Cup!

But there is a twist: Since this is Halo: Reach and Grifball has evolved, teams will have to master all three of the most popular gametypes: Vanilla Grifball, Grifball Dash, and Blargball.

The World Cup will begin on Monday, September 17. For the first week, teams will play everyone in their group once on Vanilla Grifball.

For the second week, teams will play everyone in their group once on Grifball Dash.

For the third week, teams will play everyone in their group once on Blargball.

On October 8, the top team from each group will advance to the elimination round. The tournament will function just like the the GGL playoffs: each matchup will be a best-of-three series. However, the first game of the series will be Vanilla Grifball. The second will be Grifball Dash. The third game of every series, if necessary, will be Blargball.

If you're interested in playing, get your team ready! Signups for the Grifball World Cup will be open from September 7 until September 14, the two-year anniversary of the release of Reach. The first games -- Vanilla Grifball -- will begin the week of September 17.

Please use this thread to organized teams and discuss this event.

    See you on the court!
